There are also some gypsum dunes in the far northwest of the NP property I would like to get out and see, but I think I'd need a 4x4. Sitting Bull Falls wasn't on our plans for this trip, but when we finished Carlsbad a little early I thought we should give it a shot. My third t...I was on the summit the weekend before! My third time to summit. One of my favorite hikes. I will have a post up about it tomorrow on MyLifeOutdoors.com. Did you see the salt flats to the west? They were made when the ocean receded and water collected in low lying areas eventually evaporating leaving the salt. Sorry you missed sitting bull falls.
