Blowing Bubbles for WWFM VIII

Saturday my wife and I attended a World Wide Geocaching Flash Mob in CJ Kelly Park in Midland, TX. A flash mob is when people show up at a fixed location, either by address or coordinates to do some pre-determined task in full view of the unknowing public. After a short period of time everyone disperses to further confuse what just happened. Our host was local geocacher caleb.osborn, whom I may or may not have peer pressured into running the show. :P

This was the ninth Flash Mob coordinated by Podcacher, a podcast for Geocachers. At the equivalent time all over the world people met to do a similar event to what we did.

Our task was to blow bubbles in the middle of the park for 15 minutes near the lake. Over 40 men, women, and children showed up from Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, and Big Springs. It was warm but there was a steady breeze that made it enjoyed for the short time we were out there.

After the event ended we headed over to Clear Springs Cafe where about half of the Flash Mob attendees had lunch and shared Geocaching war stories. It was a good event and I look forward to the next one.
